SEVILLA RESTAURANT & TAPAS BAR, SAN DIEGO

If you go to San Diego, Cafe Sevilla is a must. This is one of my favorite places to eat when I’m in Downtown San Diego. This Spanish restaurant and tapas bar has authentic Spanish ambiance and decor, and is a lively fun spot for mojitos and sangria at the bar or a delicious and festive dinner with friends. The food is really great at Cafe Sevilla, I recently just had one of the best dinners I’ve had in a long time. It was really a treat and I have been raving about it ever since. I went with a couple of girlfriends for a birthday dinner and we ordered small tapa plates to share for the table. Everything we ordered was delicious. They have big entree meals, but we thought it would be fun to share small plates so we can try more stuff on the menu.

SEVILLA’S FRESH BAKED BREAD & LEGENDARY HOMEMADE ALIOLI
W/ ANDALUSIA TOMATO SAUCE
You can choose between an Artisan Kalamata Olive Loaf or a French Country Baguette. This was the best part of the meal. Warm and fresh, crispy outside, fluffy inside, and the garlic aioli mixed with the tomato sauce is literally heaven in your mouth. THIS IS A MUST ORDER! Seriously amazing. I could make a meal out of just this. Heaven I tell you…
SEAFOOD CREPE
Rich Shrimp, Scallop & Clam filling; light Lobster Saffron Sauce
One of Sevilla’s famous signature tapas. Was recommended to get this by a few people actually-this was the best tapa we ordered! If you like seafood, you have to order this. Rich and creamy and super flavorful. Loved the creamy lobster sauce too. AMAZEBALLS. *Highly recommended.
TUNA TARTARE TOWER
Sushi Grade Ahi; w/ fresh apple, mango, avocado, & homemade lemon, garlic soy dressing
Fresh, light and delicious! One of my favorite dishes to order anywhere I go. Loved it! Great flavors and textures.
SAUTEED MUSHROOMS AL AJILLO W/ GARLIC & SPICES
I happen to love mushrooms, so I wanted this dish. Very flavorful, love garlic, and love mushrooms lol.
GRILLED CHICKEN SKEWERS
Bell peppers, onion, red wine sauce
Tender & flavorful. Can’t go wrong with a chicken skewer.
CHEESE FUNDIDO
Baked Manchego & goat cheese, added Chorizo sausage
This and the seafood crepe were the best tapas. This was definitely heavy and cheesy, but damn was it good. The garlic, buttery, toasted crostini dipped in the cheese and chorizo on top- unbelievable. Don’t recommend if you’re lactose intolerant lol. But even if you are, it’s worth it. It’s that good.
BEEF EMPANADA
Seasoned chopped steak, vegetables & Manchego cheese, w/ Rioja red wine sauce
A Spanish staple. Flakey, warm dough with meat and cheese inside. Classic. Came with a basil sauce on the side. Perfectly cooked inside and freshly baked outside. Well done!
BREAD PUDDING XEREZ
Warm bread pudding with figs, raisins and bananas; topped with Apple Brandy sauce,
fresh whipped cream & toasted almonds
One of the better bread puddings I’ve had. The ice cream was cinnamon! So good. I was so full by the time this came out but I remember it being very good…like everything at Sevilla. You can’t go wrong!

Out w/ the birthday girl in downtown San Diego after a wonderful dinner at Sevilla. So fun!
Even if you are not hungry, Sevilla is a great place for mojitos, Spanish Sangria, wine or any other cocktails. It’s a social spot for dinner or drinks with a great atmosphere. They have a live Spanish band too! You almost feel like you are in Spain 😉
