A DAY IN DOWNTOWN LA! DRAGO CENTRO, LOS ANGELES

MY DAY IN DOWNTOWN LA

This past weekend I wondered around Downtown LA to some amazing locations and took some pictures just for fun! There are so many beautiful, artsy locations down there you would never think to travel to. Later in the day, I had dinner at the well known restaurant, Drago Centro in the heart of downtown. It was really great Italian food. We loved it. Check out my food pictures from Drago and I also wanted to share a couple pictures I took that day 🙂

l’insalata di cesare
romaine, caesar dressing, shaved parmesan, garlic crostini
This was a great ceaser salad to start out the meal.
la mozzarella
buffalo mozzarella, balsamic, tomato, basil, crostini
The mozzarella was so creamy and delicious. It almost tasted and had the same texture as burrata cheese which I love. This is also the perfect appetizer.
gli spaghetti con il pesto alla trapanese
basil spaghetti, sicilian almond-tomato and basil pesto
The basil noodles were  flavored with a pesto sauce as well as tomato sauce. It was different, I really liked it. What I loved about it was the texture of the noodles. They literally were so tender and silky, they melted in your mouth. You can tell they were freshly made.
 fettuccine
fresh fettuccini pasta, wild mushroom ragout, shaved truffles
This was on their special “truffle” menu. It’s truffle season! I am obsessed with truffle so had to try this fettuccine. Our server shaved the black truffle in front of me onto the pasta. It wasn’t a heavy fettuccine Alfredo- it was lighter and less creamy but still as delicious.
 l’anatra
duck breast, polenta, brussel sprouts, brown butter fonduta
The duck was bursting with flavor. I loved the creamy brown butter sauce that came on the plate too. This duck dish was different and creative. I’ve never had duck served this way- (This duck was served more rare, and I’m usually used to crispy duck). The brussel sprouts were extremely flavorful and the square of creamy polenta on the side was delicate & delicious. Great dish.
Spaghetti
We were in the mood for traditional spaghetti with marina sauce. It wasn’t on the menu, they just made it for us. This was simple, flavorful and delicious. The noodles were thick and once again you could tell they were freshly made.
ENJOYING THE DAY IN DOWNTOWN LA! HERE IS ONE OF THE PICTURES I TOOK DOWNTOWN, & DRAGO CENTRO WAS THE PERFECT WAY TO END A GREAT DAY.
